With 44 percent, the General Elections glorify women’s capabilities

DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has said that in 2025, Tanzania conducted its seventh General Election, which recorded major successes, including achieving 44 percent women representation in Parliament, and that the election was fully financed using domestic funds.

Despite these achievements, President Samia acknowledged the challenge that arose from the shutdown of internet services during the election period and extended her apologies to ambassadors and members of the diplomatic community for the inconvenience caused. She also pledged that the government is taking firm measures to ensure such a situation does not recur.

“To our partners in the international community and foreigners living here in Tanzania, I convey my apologies for the misunderstanding, service disruptions, and the internet shutdown that you experienced.
