Wenje quits CHADEMA to join the ruling CCM

CHATO: EZEKEIL Wenje, the former Chadema Lake Zone member of the Parliament for Nyamagana constituency, has officially joined the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), saying he appreciates the party’s significant work in maintaining national peace and development.

Wenje announced his decision today, October 13, 2025, during a campaign rally for CCM’s presidential candidate, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, held in Chato district, Geita region.

Wenje stated that peace is the foundation for national development, and therefore, he has decided to join CCM to clearly show that he does not support those planning to hold demonstrations on October 29 this year.

Furthermore, Wenje expressed admiration for the implementation of various development projects carried out by the CCM government and expressed confidence that even more beneficial projects will continue to be delivered to the citizens.

In another development, Wenje denied claims that Chadema has been banned from participating in the upcoming general elections, emphasizing that such reports are false.
