VP calls for workable vision 2050

DODOMA: THE Vice-President, Dr Philip Mpango on Monday demanded Planning Commission officers to ensure the country obtain a feasible National Development Vision 2050.
Dr Mpango made the statement in an official meeting with the Planning Commission Executive Secretary, Mr Lawrence Mafuru in Dodoma Region.
Dr Mpango directed planning experts including from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) to perform their responsibility of preparing the vision 2050 diligently.
He said quality development vision can be prepared by using accurate data, information and statistics. He said the preparation process should be participatory by engaging the people in the entire process to get their opinions on which kind of Tanzania, they foresee.
“In an entire preparation, insight thinking, creativity and solid focus toward the envisioned goals is critical,” Dr Mpango said.
Nevertheless, he said all development sectors should understand that it is their responsibility to provide relevant information to the commission for smooth drafting of the vision.
He also urged private sectors to be at front line in providing information pertaining to their field, which will accelerate the country’s development.
He urged all citizens including youths, to voice up their opinion during the Vision 2050 preparation.
