UDSM partners with Chinese firms in transferring modern technology

DAR ES SALAAM: THE University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) has entered into a partnership with several Chinese companies aimed at enhancing collaboration in key sectors, including the transfer of modern construction technology.
The partnership seeks to equip Tanzanian engineers with professional skills and strengthen their capacity in the construction industry.
Among the companies involved are Juye Concrete and KZJ Construction Enhancers, with the initiative coordinated through the Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam.

The collaboration has been described as part of the ongoing economic diplomacy between Tanzania and China.
Speaking at the official launch of the partnership, UDSM Vice Chancellor Professor William Anangisye said the move follows an assessment that identified a shortage of experts and advanced technology in Tanzania’s construction sector.
On her part, Chairperson of Juye Concrete, Ms. Xu Hongjuan, expressed gratitude to the Tanzanian government for creating an enabling environment for investment, which she said has allowed her company to operate in the country for over 10 years.
