Ubungo renews efforts to end water woes in its 14 wards

DAR ES SALAAM: The Ubungo District Commissioner, Albert Msando, has received three water storage tanks from the Dar es Salaam Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (DAWASA) and revived a borehole with the capacity to produce 10,000 liters of water per hour in Kwa Mloti Street, Dar es Salaam, as part of efforts to reduce the water shortage affecting residents in the area.

Speaking after receiving the tanks, the District Commissioner said the project involves treating saline water and converting it into clean and safe water suitable for human use, including drinking.

Msando commended the implementation of the project, noting that it will be managed by women’s groups through women empowerment platforms.

He added that the government’s goal is to roll out the project to 14 wards in Ubungo District that are still facing challenges in accessing clean and safe water.
