TUNIS, TUNISIA: AFTER thrashing Tunisia 5-0 in their first match of the Tunis Women’s Cup, Twiga Stars are set to play Botswana in their last fixture at Terrain Ariana Stadium in Tunisia today.
Tanzania heroines’ side was on a rampage as they stunned the hosts to grab essential three points as they target to finish the two-match international friendly campaign on top gear.
Speaking after the victory, the team’s head coach, Bakari Shime, revealed that tactical discipline among his charges was the secret behind the triumph.

“We used well every scoring opportunity we created during the match to score, unlike our opponents and now, our focus is on the last match against Botswana.
“This is a competition meaning that a team that finishes at the top will be crowned champions, as such if we win over Botswana, we will automatically become champions,” Shime said.
He also credited his side for defending well throughout the encounter to keep a clean sheet.
Asked if he knew beforehand how their opponents play, he replied that he did not have such knowledge and they adapted to the match as it unfolded.
“These two matches are helping us a lot to build a strong team ahead of our upcoming competitive duels,” he said.
On her part, the team’s net-burster Aisha Juma who netted a hat-trick, disclosed that teamwork helped her to score three goals.
