TSN, Xinhua agree to deepen ties in media technology

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Standard Newspapers Limited (TSN) has affirmed its commitment to deepen cooperation with the Xinhua News Agency on issues related to technological advancements in the media and providing training for journalists.
TSN’s decision comes during a visit by a delegation from Xinhua, led by Chief Editor Lyu Yansong, to TSN’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam. Yansong’s delegation was received by TSN’s Managing Director, Asha Dachi, and the visit continues the long-standing cooperation between the Tanzanian and Chinese media outlets.

Speaking at the meeting, Asha Dachi said the partnership has helped strengthen the flow of reliable international news, promote professional exchanges, and build deeper mutual understanding between Tanzania and China.
“We look forward to enhancing our collaboration through technical assistance, training opportunities, and professional exchange programs. These efforts will not only improve the skills of our journalists but also strengthen institutional relations and cultural understanding between the media of Tanzania and China,” she said.

Yangsong also praised TSN for reaching 95 years since its establishment, noting that TSN is like an elder brother to Xinhua, which was founded one year later and is now 94 years old. He also invited TSN leadership to participate in Xinhua’s 95th-anniversary celebrations, scheduled to take place in Beijing on November 7, 2026.
