TPA women workers told to embrace professionalism

DAR ES SALAAM: WOMEN workers at Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) have been asked to work hard while embracing professionalism, trust and integrity to achieve their objectives and those of the authority and the nation as a whole.
The call was made recently by the Chief Secretary of the Zanzibar Revolutionary Government Ms Zena Ahmed Said during the International Women’s Day celebration.
“You (TPA women) are in a sensitive place, so you have to evaluate yourself and assess their responsibilities in order to contribute greatly to the development of society and the nation as a whole,” said Ms Said.
Meanwhile, Ms Said commended the TPA women for donating to the society more than 60m/- to help the people with special needs since they supported President Samia Suluhu Hassan to improve services to the community.
She said the TPA did well in ensuring that women were part of the success in its strategies for empowering women.
“I recognise the strategies put in place by the TPA Director General Plasduce Mbossa in building capacity among women to become good and good executives with high ability to serve the authority and nation at large,” Ms Said stressed.
“I congratulate you for carrying out the good mission of our leader, President Samia, to ensure that many women participate in contributing to the development of our nation through various opportunities”.
In this year’s celebration, the TPA Women scooped a trophy after Bandari Queens team won in Second Division League upon which it qualifies to play in the First Division League.
