TMA predicts ‘DIKELEDI’ cyclone

DAR ES SALAAM: The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) says the trajectory of the weather systems in the Indian Ocean indicates a probability of cyclone ‘DIKELEDI’.

According to information released by Tanzania’s Weatherman on Tuesday, the cyclone is currently situated along the Mozambican coast and is expected to return to the Mozambique Channel this afternoon.

Additionally, TMA noted that the cyclone will not have a direct effect, however, due to the proximity of the cyclone to southern parts of the country, there is a slight possibility of short periods of heavy rainfall along the southern coastal regions, particularly in Lindi and Mtwara today.

Moreover, strong winds and high waves are expected to occur today and tomorrow.

However, the authority advised citizens to follow closely and consider information released by them.
