Tido Mhando declares war on unprofessional media practitioners

DAR ES SALAAM: The Journalists’ Accreditation Board’s Chairman, Dunstan Tido Mhando, said the launch has marked the beginning to an end of the unprofessionalism in the media sector.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam after the launch, Mhando stated that, together with his fellow board members, they will make every effort to uphold professionalism and enforce all provisions outlined in the law that established the board.

The launch was officiated by the Minister of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi, and attended by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Gerson Msigwa, along with various media stakeholders.

The board was established under Section 12 of the Media Services Act, Chapter 229, with its primary mandate being to accredit journalists in the country.

In his remarks, Minister Kabudi emphasized that the board is a crucial institution for regulating journalism standards, ensuring adherence to professional ethics, and empowering journalists to enhance their skills and professionalism.
