TFS trumpets forestry investment opportunities at Nanenane Exhibition

DODOMA: THE Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) has used the platform of the ongoing Nanenane Exhibition at Nzuguni, Dodoma, to announce numerous investment opportunities available in the forestry and beekeeping sectors.

The exhibition, which is being held from August 1 to 8, 2025, has been a key opportunity for TFS to educate citizens and investors about areas rich in resources that can increase individual income and the national GDP as a whole.

Speaking at the Central Zone Investment Conference held within the exhibition, the Director General of the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority, Gilead Teri, said the government has continued to improve the investment climate in the country to attract local and foreign investors.

“We continue to create an investment-friendly environment, including access to affordable loans, to increase the value of locally produced crops,” said Teri.

For her part, the Chief Conservator, Husna Msagati from TFS, who represented the Central Zone Commander, Mathew Kiondo, explained that the agency has been tasked with managing the country’s forest and bee resources by ensuring their sustainable use for the present and future generations.

She noted that the Central Zone, which includes the regions of Dodoma, Singida, and Manyara, has a total of 47 reserves, equivalent to 10 percent of all reserves in Mainland Tanzania. These reserves include natural environment reserves (3), bee reserves (4), Itigi scrublands (20), and conventional forests (21).

“These forests have many economic opportunities that citizens and various stakeholders can use to increase income through ecotourism activities, bee tourism, investment in guest houses, wildlife parks, and camping areas,” she said.

In addition, Msagati emphasized that TFS has opened the doors for investors to establish bee product processing factories, to increase the value of these products, and strengthen local and foreign markets.

Some of the areas mentioned as having investment opportunities in the Central Zone include Chenene, Nou, Itigi Bushes, Miamboni Kolo (Kondoa) Rock Drawings, Chiyami, Bereko, Hasama, Mount Hanang, Haraa, and Kilima Tinde (viewpoint of the Rift Valley and the slave route).

There is also an opportunity for migundi farming in the Wembere area.
