TCCIA Investment changes name, eyes more investors

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Board of Directors of TCCIA Investment has proposed change of the company’s name to Afriprise Investment to strengthen its identity in coping up with the unfolding market trends and emerging business opportunities.

The TCCIA Investment is one of the fast growing Tanzanian public and private companies showcasing and promoting the breadth and quality of investment opportunities across Africa.

The Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Peter Kifunguomali, said in an interview that the change of TCCIA Investment name and logo has been ignited by the digital revolution, which has the potential to drive inclusive economic prosperity for Tanzania.

“The Board of Directors has discovered that our current logo and name do not reflect our vision, value and the position of the company in the market. A new name and logo would help us present our business outlook as far as innovation is concerned,” he said.

“It is important for us to change if we are to face the competitive business environment in which we operate. Change of name and logo would help us attract more investors leading to the growth of our company,” Kifunguomali added.

The TCCIA Investment Board of Directors decided to change the company’s name and logo at the 18th Annual General Meeting held in August last year.

The 25-year-old company was established in 1999 after Tanzania had embarked on the road to market-based economy after the privatisation of several state-owned enterprises during the President Benjamin Mkapa administration.

It was established by shareholders to expand financing sources to participate meaningfully in the ownership and control the country’s economy. Currently, TCCIA Investment is regulated and supervised by the Capital Markets and Securities Authority.

Its principal activities involve investing in business enterprises, industrial, financial services, telecommunication, agriculture, mining, construction, real estate and the service sector.
