TCCIA asks Tanga to set permanent venues for exhibitions
TANGA: TANGA’S stakeholders have asked the city authorities to allocate permanent venues for exhibitions.
The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), President, Mr Vincent Minja, floated the request over the weekend, saying a permanent ground will also reduce construction costs for building pavilions.
“Le’s set aside a special permanent area so that we don’t have the challenge of moving from one place to another,” Mr Minja said.
The TCCIA president aired the opinion during the recently held Tanga Trade and Tourism fair, which, this year, was held at Usagara Secondary School. In the past eight years, TCCIA has been holding the fair at Mwahako grounds Pangani Road.

However, the grounds were damaged by recent heavy rains. He said if city fathers allocate permanent grounds for the exhibitions, sponsors for the fair will be easily attracted.
The Tanga Regional Commissioner, Dr Batilda Buriani, seconded the TCCIA opinions, saying there is room to improve the fair to the level of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF).
