Taoussi, Chikola win November awards

DAR ES SALAAM: AZAM FC Head Coach Rachid Taoussi and Tabora United midfielder Offen Chikola have earned accolades in the Mainland Premier League’s November awards, with Taoussi named Coach of the Month and Chikola Player of the Month.
Taoussi edged out Simba SC’s Fadlu Davids and JKT Tanzania’s Hamad Ali.
According to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Awards Committee, the coach’s exceptional leadership saw his team claim wins in all three games his charges played in November.
“Taoussi triumphed over close competitors Fadlu Davids and Hamad Ali, winning all three matches they played. His victory propelled him from fourth place in November to second,” the statement noted.
Under Taoussi’s guidance, Azam FC won against Singida Black Stars 2-1, Young Africans 1-0 and Kagera Sugar 1-0.

In the Player of the Month category, Tabora United’s Offen Chikola emerged victorious, beating fellow nominees Yacouba Songne, also of Tabora United and Simba’s Moussa Camara.
“The player made a significant contribution to his team’s success in three of the four matches they played during the month. He scored three goals in the 351 minutes he featured,” part of the TFF’s statement noted.
Tabora United’s impressive form included victories over Mashujaa (1-0), KMC (2-0) and a stunning 3-1 win against reigning champions Yanga.
Additionally, TFF recognised Shaaban Rajab, the Manager of Lake Tanganyika Stadium, as the Mainland Premier League’s Best Manager for November.
Rajab was commended for his outstanding management of match-day events and his focus on maintaining high standards of the stadium infrastructure.
The accolades highlights remarkable efforts and achievements across the league, underscoring the competitive spirit and excellence in Tanzanian football.
