TANZANIA: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has joined global leaders in congratulating U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on his victory in the 2024 presidential election.
After the announcement of Trump’s victory over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, global leaders took to social media to congratulate him and assure continued international cooperation under the new administration.
In a message shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account, President Samia expressed Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening ties with the United States.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency @realDonaldTrump, President-elect of the United States of America, on your election victory. Mr. President-elect, you have my best wishes,” she wrote.
President Samia reiterated her commitment to deepening bilateral ties between the two nations, stating, “I am looking forward to working together to strengthen the bilateral relations between Tanzania and the United States.”
Trump’s victory has drawn diverse responses from global leaders, with many underscoring the importance of partnerships on key global challenges.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also expressed support for Trump.
“Dear Donald and Melania Trump, Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory! In true friendship, yours, Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu,” Netanyahu posted.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed optimism for collaboration with the newly elected U.S. leader.
“Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on his impressive election victory! I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to end Russian aggression against Ukraine. I am looking forward to personally congratulating President Trump and discussing ways to strengthen Ukraine’s strategic partnership with the United States,” he wrote.
French President Emmanuel Macron posted on X, “Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump. Ready to work together as we did for four years. With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, “Heartiest congratulations my friend @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability, and prosperity.”
Beyond political figures, FIFA President Gianni Infantino also underscored his partnership with the U.S. government in hosting various tournaments.
Infantino wrote, “Congratulations Mr. President! We will have a great FIFA World Cup and a great FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America! Football Unites the World!”
Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, who was vocal in support of Trump during the campaign, celebrated the outcome on X, expressing his excitement with just words: “The future is going to be fire.”
