Tanzania’s Education Ministry unveils priorities in its 2.43tri/- budget

DODOMA: TO ensure the implementation of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology’s goals, the Ministry, along with its institutions, has requested Parliament to approve a 2.439tri/- budget for the 2025/26 fiscal year.
Tabling the budget in Parliament in Dodoma, today, May 12, the Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Professor Adolf Mkenda, said out of the requested budget, 688.6bn/- will be used for the Ministry’s regular expenses. This includes 635.2bn/- for employee salaries and 53.3bn/- to foot other operational costs.

Professor Mkenda further clarified that over 1.7tri/- of the requested funds will be allocated for development projects, including strengthening education infrastructure, scientific research, and the development of technology in the education sector.
The Minister also emphasized that this plan will help improve educational services and contribute to achieving the national goals of promoting education, science, and technology in the country.
