Tanzanian Mzize wins the 2025 Goal of the Year Award   

RABAT: YOUNG Africans striker, Clement Mzize, has won the 2025 Goal of the Year Award from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Mzize was announced as the winner in that category during the awards ceremony in Rabat, Morocco, today, Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

The goal that earned him the award is the one he scored against TP Mazembe in the group-stage match of the 2024/2025 CAF Champions League, played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on January 4, 2025, where Yanga secured a 3–1 victory.

Mzize triumphed over fellow nominees Ghizlane Chebbak, Abdellah Ouazane, Barbra Banda, Anas Roshdy, Asharaf Tapsoba, Calvin Fely, Ibrahim Adel, Jean Claude, Ndabayithethwa Ndlonolo, Refiloe Jane, Oussama Lamlioui, and Soufiane Bayazid.
