Tanzanian ministry insists on broad use of ICT in colleges

DODOMA: THE Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr. John Jingu has called on trainers of the Development and Community Development Technical Colleges to teach by using ICT technology to keep up with the science and technology change, and students to use it effectively in acquiring knowledge and expertise.
Dr Jingu said this in Dodoma, while launching a new Examination Board for Development and Community Development Technical Development, after the original board ended its term.
He has called on the Board of Examinations for Development and Community Development Technical Development to ensure that skills are considered in student exams so that they can be effective graduates for national development.
He said that it is important for community development and community development colleges to focus on the management and quality of student exams to produce community development professionals who will have the skills and knowledge in the implementation of their responsibilities.
“I congratulate you on accepting the appointment to this Board. I urge you to continue managing the procedures and rules of the examinations, because the social development sector is the heart of the nation, so we must have effective professionals for community development,” said Dr Jingu.

On the other hand, outgoing board chairman Dr Christina Mandara has thanked the Ministry’s management for allowing him to serve the Board from 2018/2019 to 2024/2025 and for allowing him to advise on examinations at the colleges.
And the new Chairman of the Examination Board for Development and Community Development Technical Development, Dr Sanford Sanga, has thanked the appointment of the position and promised to comply with the rules, regulations, and procedures to ensure the board works professionally so that students can graduate with the right knowledge to the nation’s development.
