Tanzania-USA partnership to remain strong, regardless of election results

Ambassador Battle emphasized Tanzania’s significance both in East Africa and globally, noting that the bilateral relationship will remain robust under the leadership of either party

DAR ES SALAAM: As United States presidential election results continue to come in, with Donald Trump currently in the lead, the U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania, Dr Michael Battle, has assured that the global economic powerhouse will maintain its longstanding partnership with the East African state, regardless of the winning party.

Speaking to journalists during an event organized at the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday to follow the presidential election results, Ambassador Battle emphasized Tanzania’s significance both in East Africa and globally, noting that the bilateral relationship will remain robust under the leadership of either party.

“I cannot predict what’s going to happen with Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. All I can say is that the U.S. and Tanzania have a close relationship with both Republican and Democratic presidents. My expectation is that the U.S. will continue to have a strong working partnership with Tanzania,” he said.
