Tanzania tables 12,000 new jobs in health, education sectors

DODOMA: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has announced that within just 12 days since the beginning of the second term of the Sixth-Phase Government, 7,000 new teaching posts and 5,000 health sector jobs have already been advertised.

 The move is part of the government’s strategy to strengthen the delivery of essential services to the Tanzanian citizens.

Speaking today, November 14, 2025, during the inauguration of the 13th Parliament in Dodoma, President Samia said that increasing the number of personnel in the education and health sectors will enhance accountability and efficiency among workers, ultimately leading to better services across the country.

She emphasized that these two sectors are key pillars of national development, and therefore the government will continue to ensure they receive adequate human resources and infrastructure to meet the needs of Tanzanians in all regions.

Additionally, President Samia announced a ban on hospitals and health centers withholding bodies of deceased persons due to unpaid bills. She directed that families should be allowed to take the bodies, while outstanding payments can be settled gradually, in order to reduce distress and uphold dignity for bereaved families.
