Tanzania launches Tinga Chan, Tinga Tanzania slogan
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, has launched a campaign titled Tinga Chan, Tinga Tanzania, aimed at promoting tourism through the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, scheduled to take place from August 2 to 30, 2025.
Speaking to journalists today, July 31, 2025, at the Leaders Club grounds in Dar es Salaam, TTB’s Managing Director, Ephraim Mafuru, explained that the campaign seeks to leverage the tournament to promote Tanzania’s tourism attractions both locally and internationally.
“It is a great honor for Tanzania to host this CHAN tournament. We will use this opportunity to showcase our unique attractions to different countries, as matches will be played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, New Amaan Complex (Zanzibar), as well as in Kenya and Uganda within the East African region,” said Mafuru.
He added 19 African nations will participate in the tournament, and Tanzanians will have the opportunity to watch the matches live in designated public viewing zones in Arusha, Mwanza, Mbeya, Dodoma, and Dar es Salaam.
“Through this campaign, we will promote our tourism attractions using advertisements, videos, modern technology, and digital content. Our goal is to attract more visitors during and even after the tournament, thereby increasing the number of tourists coming into the country,” Mafuru added.
