Tanzania is safe and calm, the Police assure residents
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Police Force spokesperson, David Misime, has assured citizens of security and a calm situation while urging them to turn out in large numbers at their registered polling stations to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
Misime made the statement earlier on Wednesday noting that so far there are no security threats identified in the country.
“We have not seen any security threat. The Tanzanian citizens should go in large numbers to the polling stations where they are registered to cast their votes. We have deployed officers well in all polling stations to ensure adequate security, and we will continue to carry out this duty with great professionalism, wisdom, and fairness to ensure that citizens fulfill their right to vote,” he stated.
According to the Police Spokesperson, the police force has put in place strong measures to ensure the election is conducted in peace and tranquility throughout the country.
