Tanzania envisions 50.1tri/- in revenue as Finance Ministry’s top priority

DODOMA: THE Ministry of Finance has submitted a request to the Parliament seeking approval of a 20.19tri/- budget for the 2025/2026 financial year.

The request was presented today in the National Assembly in Dodoma by the Minister for Finance, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, during the presentation of the implementation review of the 2024/2025 budget and plan, as well as the proposed plan and budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

According to Dr. Nchemba, out of the total requested amount, 19.43tri/- will be allocated for recurrent expenditures, 757.79bn/- for development projects, and 122.52bn/- for the National Audit Office.

He noted that the proposed budget aims to facilitate the implementation of key ministry priorities, including the collection of 50.98tri/- in revenue, servicing of government debt amounting to 14.22tri/- expected to mature, and the development of a public asset management policy.
