Tanzania affirms to foster  inclusive socio-economic development of the EAC people

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA has reaffirmed its commitment to deepen collaboration with EAC member states in education, science and technology, arts, and sports sectors to foster inclusive social and economic development of all East Africans.

That was revealed by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dennis Londo, who represented the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, at the 20th Sectoral Council of Ministers’ Meeting on Education, Science and Technology, Culture and Sports.

The meeting focused on discussing various matters related to these key sectors within the East African region.

The meeting was attended by ministers from East African Community (EAC) member states, along with other high-ranking officials including Permanent Secretaries and heads of education institutions within the EAC.

In the meeting, Londo led the Tanzanian delegation accompanied by senior government officials including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Professor Carolyne Nombo, and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, who is also the Government Spokesperson, Gerson Msigwa.

Through its participation, Tanzania reaffirmed its commitment to continued collaboration with EAC member states in strengthening and advancing the sectors of education, science and technology, arts, and sports to foster inclusive social and economic development for the people of East Africa.
