TANTRADE nominated for 2024 WTPO awards
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE) has been nominated for the prestigious 2024 World Trade Promotion Organisation (WTPO) Awards by the International Trade Centre (ITC).
According to a press release, TANTRADE was nominated among the eight national trade promotion organisations. “The WTPO Awards 2024 focus on the outstanding performance of a TPO’s practices in delivering export development initiatives,” TANTRADE said in the release on Monday.
“Export development initiatives aim to build the capacities of exporting enterprises in the medium and long term.” TANTRADE is among the three finalists nominated under the ‘Best Use of Information Technology’ category for its initiative to establish the Tanzania Trade Portal launched on July 8, 2021, to offer a comprehensive and transparent guide for businesses dealing with export, import and transit trade.
The portal aimed at streaming trade processes by increasing transparency reduces both time and cost associated with obtaining permits and licences.
