Tantrade explores economic opportunities in Tanzania-Zimbabwe ties

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIAN ambassador to Zimbabwe, Suzan Kaganda, has held talks with the Director of the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE), Latifa Khamis, focusing on strengthening bilateral trade relations and exploring economic opportunities in Zimbabwe that Tanzania could benefit from.

The meeting took place in Dar es Salaam, where both leaders discussed the potential for exporting Tanzanian products such as rice, cashew nuts, coffee, beans, honey, and fruits to Zimbabwe, given the strong demand and the country’s market availability.

Furthermore, Ambassador Suzan and Ms. Khamis agreed on the importance of establishing a joint strategy between the Embassy and TANTRADE to promote Tanzanian-made products. The aim is to increase visibility and secure a market presence for these products in Zimbabwe.

Together, the two leaders expressed their commitment to close collaboration in boosting trade and supporting Tanzania’s economic growth through access to international markets, particularly within the Southern African region. The strategy is expected to be implemented promptly to support local producers in finding new markets for their goods.
