TADB Channels bulk of northern zone funding to Tanga

TANGA: The Tanga region has spent over 29bn/- out of 49.9bn/- Tanzania government disbursed in the Northern regions for various development projects.
This was revealed during the ongoing National Financial Services Week for 2026, which officially began on January 19, 2026, at the Usagara Grounds in Tanga.
The event has brought together various stakeholders from the financial sector.
The celebrations have been organized by the Government through the Ministry of Finance with the aim of educating citizens on financial matters.
The initiative seeks to enhance public awareness of the proper use of financial services, the importance of joining formal financial systems, and encouraging citizens’ participation in economic activities for sustainable development at both individual and national levels.

Meanwhile, the Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) has announced that it will continue providing public awareness and education on its services. The education will focus on explaining how the bank operates in driving transformation of the agricultural sector from subsistence farming to productive commercial agriculture.
In addition, TADB will provide guidance on loan application procedures, the importance of formalizing agribusiness activities, and the use of the Credit Guarantee Fund for smallholder farmers. Members of the public have been encouraged to take advantage of the event by visiting various exhibition booths to access information and services that will help improve their economic activities.
