TAMISA to empower local mining suppliers

TANZANIA: THE Tanzania Mining Industry Suppliers Association (TAMISA) has been launched, marking a significant milestone in the empowerment of local content and suppliers within Tanzania’s mining sector.

This landmark development aims to set new standards for local participation and create robust opportunities for Tanzanian businesses, fostering a more inclusive and sustainable industry environment.

TAMISA’s launch represents a major step forward in integrating locals into the mining sector, ensuring that the country’s mineral wealth benefits local communities directly while fostering a culture of innovation and business sustainability.

Minister for Minerals Anthony Mavunde, the chief guest, endorsed TAMISA’s commitment to local content policies.

“TAMISA’s formation as the official collective voice of mining suppliers will enhance our efforts to address local content challenges and ensure that our mineral wealth benefits our citizens directly,” said Mr Mavunde.

TAMISA’s will provide mining suppliers with a crucial platform to advocate for their rights and contribute to a more robust business environment.”

TAMISA Chairman Peter Kumalilwa said they are committed to empowering mining suppliers, advocating for their interests and enhancing the business environment.

“We aim to position our members as leaders in the industry,” he said.

The organisation was established last month.
