DAR ES SALAAM: The government has urged citizens to take advantage of the communication services provided by the Tanzania Telecommunications Corporation (TTCL), which have been extended to various areas across the country, including remote regions.
Deputy Minister for Information and Communication Maryprisca Mahundi made this call during a working visit to TTCL, where she observed the services offered by the corporation.
Engineer Mahundi emphasized that the government continues to support TTCL in delivering quality communication services. This support includes a contract to construct 636 towers aimed at reaching remote areas and addressing communication challenges in those regions.
“The services provided by TTCL are improving communication in the remote areas of our country. Our goal is to provide communication services to the community rather than focusing solely on profit,” the Deputy Minister stated.
She also highlighted TTCL’s significant achievements, including the construction of a national communication backbone that serves six African countries reliant on this infrastructure for communication.
“With all the investments the government has made, the construction of the national communication backbone has opened up opportunities for enhanced communication services, so let’s make the most of it,” she noted.
TTCL’s Managing Director, CPA Moremi Marwa, added that the corporation is focused on delivering and improving its services, including financial and data services. He took the opportunity to encourage TTCL customers to continue placing their trust in the corporation and to utilize its services.
