TADB facilitates construction of egg-laying plant in Kigoma

KIGOMA: THE Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) has facilitated the construction of an egg-laying poultry factory named Mayai Ltd, owned by Rupinder Sandhu, located in Kimbwela village, Simbo ward, in Kigoma Region.
Speaking about the factory, TADB Business Development Officer Patrick Kapungu stated that the facility is one of the largest in the Western Zone, which includes the regions of Kigoma, Tabora, and Katavi. It provides both permanent and temporary (casual) employment opportunities to the people of Kigoma especially those living near the project as well as other Tanzanians.
So far, the factory has brought numerous benefits, including employment for over 40 local residents, and improvements in social services such as the construction of water wells, provision of electricity, road infrastructure, and contributions to the construction of schools and health centers in the surrounding villages.

The factory’s Managing Director, Rupinder Sandhu, noted that 80 percent of the project’s funding came through support from the Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB). He expressed deep gratitude to the government for empowering TADB, stating that without this support, the project would not have reached its current stage.
The factory produces 3,000 trays of eggs per day equivalent to 90,000 trays per month marking a significant economic transformation enabled through TADB’s involvement.
