Tabora Utd gears for Simba showdown

TABORA: TABORA United’s head coach, Anicet Kiazayidi, has stressed the importance of peak performance as his team gears up to face league leaders Simba next weekend at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora.

To bolster their readiness, Tabora United will play two friendly matches ahead of this crucial encounter. Tabora United have had a strong first half of the season, securing fifth place on the table with 25 points from 15 games.

In their last five matches, they recorded three wins and two draws. Kiazayidi addressed the press, underscoring that these friendly matches are essential for assessing the team’s progress and identifying areas for improvement.

He believes that this preparation will sharpen players’ skills as they brace for the challenge ahead.

“Simba is a formidable opponent, a big team with recent experience in high-stakes international matches, which means they will be in top form,” Kiazayidi remarked.

“I’m confident that the friendlies will enhance our players’ readiness before we face them. We need to perform at our best against the league leaders.”

The team is eager to rebound from a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Simba in their last encounter in August of last year. Coach Kiazayidi acknowledges the formidable task ahead, aware of Simba’s strong performance both in the Mainland Premier League and on the continental stage, where they recently reached the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

“This upcoming match will be a significant challenge for us. Simba has been excelling both locally and internationally,” Kiazayidi noted.

“We must prepare thoroughly for this game. It won’t be easy, but we have confidence in our abilities.” With preparations in full swing and two friendly matches lined up, Tabora United aims to leverage their home advantage and deliver a strong performance against the powerhouse from Dar es Salaam.
