Songwe RPC assures residents of safety ahead of polls
SONGWE: SONGWE Regional Police Commander, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Augustino Senga has assured residents that the region remains safe, calm and peaceful ahead of tomorrow’s General Election.
Speaking over the weekend, during a joint patrol with other security forces in Tunduma Town, Momba District, SACP Senga said the security agencies are well-prepared, leaving no reason for citizens to worry before, during or after the elections.
He noted that multiparty elections have been held in Tanzania since 1995 without major incidents threatening peace.
“Given the unity, solidarity and understanding of Tanzanians, I am confident that this year’s election will also proceed peacefully,” he said.
