Singeli music festival ignites Dar

DAR ES SALAAM: THE energy was electric in Dar es Salaam as the CHAN Singeli Festival erupted, marking a night of celebration following Taifa Stars’ stunning 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso.

The inaugural match of the 2024 CHAN tournament was just the beginning; the real spectacle was delivered through the soul-shaking beats of Singeli music.

Minutes after the final whistle, the fiery sounds of Singeli music filled the air, merging with the excitement from the stadium.

The city buzzed with a palpable energy as the festival took centre stage, with fireworks lighting up the night sky and the pulsating rhythm of Singeli—an electrifying fusion of traditional Tanzanian sounds and high-energy electronic beats—igniting the crowd.

The crowd roared as Miso Misondo, one of Singeli’s most iconic figures, sent waves of euphoria through the air with his energetic performance. But it wasn’t just the musicians who set the night on fire.

Dar es Salaam’s Regional Commissioner, was right there on stage, his feet moving to the infectious beat of Singeli. And he wasn’t alone.

National Arts Council Executive Secretary, Kedmon Mapana, was right beside him, his rhythm in perfect sync with the music, dancing and showing his support for Tanzanian culture in the most exuberant way.

Together, they created a fusion of government and artistry that felt as powerful as the music itself. And there was more; Maua Sama, with her powerful voice, took the stage, igniting a new level of excitement.

Mbwana Kilungi, better known as Mbosso Khan, brought his signature hits to life, while D Voice sent ripples through the crowd with his unmistakable sound. It was a roster of stars that reflected the best of Tanzanian talent and the crowd couldn’t get enough of it.

As if the energy of the match wasn’t enough, the Singeli Festival was the icing on the cake, a perfect end to a glorious day.

As the night unfolded, the line-up continued to dazzle. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Gerson Msigwa, who also doubles as the Chief Government Spokesperson, was seen right in the heart of the festivities, dancing along to the beats of Singeli alongside the artists.

The stage was a vibrant collision of culture, politics and music, all coming together to create a moment that will live in the memories of the thousands who attended for years to come. It wasn’t just a celebration of the CHAN tournament or Tanzania’s hard-earned victory over Burkina Faso.
