Simba’s title race dwarfed after 2-2 draw against Namungo

RUANGWA, LINDI: An own goal by Simba’s center-back Kennedy Juma has awarded Namungo a hard earned 2-2 draw at Majaliwa Stadium in Ruangwa, Lindi on Tuesday.

Lack of coordination between Juma and his goalie Ayoub Lakred resulted the former to steer the ball into his own net in the 89th minute.

However, Willy Onana struck first in the 33rd minute to put his side upfront before an equaliser by kelvin Sabato six minutes later.

In the second half, Edwin Balua doubled the tally for the visitors courtesy of a well crafted set-piece.

As sports fraternity believed that the game was done for Simba, a late drama erupted that astonished everyone.

As it stands, Simba remain third on the table with 47 points from 22 matches and are 15 points adrift leaders Young Africans who have annexed 62 points from 24 games.
