Simba vs. Tabora United: It is tough but we are ready

TABORA: SIMBA SC Assistant Coach, Selemani Matola has predicted a tough duel against Tabora United as they lock horns at the Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora today.

The Reds are searching for a second away Premier League victory after outclassing Mashujaa FC 1-0 at Lake the Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma on Saturday.

At a pre-match briefing held yesterday in Tabora, Matola insisted that facing Tabora United is not going to be a pushover game as they are a competitive side and are also targeting the three vital points.

“Away games are always difficult to play, even the previous match against Mashujaa was equally tough for us but we managed to get a win.

“Likewise, we are here targeting to record success even though we are playing every two days…no coach would like this fixture but we have to take it as it is.”

He added that in such a scenario, a team needs to have a depth squad to allow rotation of players.

His defender Hussein Kaze, speaking on behalf of teammates said the morale among them is high and that they are looking forward to another success.

“We are all aware how important this game is to us therefore we are going to work hard so that we attain maximum points,” he said.

It is the 12th league match for Simba this season and the Msimbazi Reds have so far collected 26 points with eight wins, two draws, and one defeat and are currently placed in the third position in the league log.

On his part, Tabora United coach Goran Kopunovic said they have the confidence to do well against Simba noting they are not afraid at all.

“I just want our fans to come in big numbers, fill the stadium, and give us support, of course, our opponents are a big team but that does not make us approach the match with heads down,” the Serbian coach said.

He continued: “For me, Tabora United is the most important thing, everyone knows about Simba but at this stage, our team matters a lot.”

On the standings, Tabora United is placed 12th with 15 points from 13 games and has just won three matches, and six draws while succumbing to four defeats.
