Simba, Tabora Utd set for high-stakes clash

DAR ES SALAAM – SIMBA are set to face Tabora United today at the Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora, in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

The two teams meet with a notable history—Simba triumphed 3-0 in their previous meeting, leaving fans to wonder whether Simba will continue their dominance away from home or if Tabora United will seize the opportunity to avenge that heavy defeat.

Ahead of the match, both team coaches faced off in a press conference yesterday. Simba Head Coach Fadlu Davids underscored the team’s determination, stating that their sole mission in Tabora is to fight for a win.

“We fight until the end and will not relax. We will not be complacent. We will play at a hundred percent, always. Our focus is on sticking to the plan and giving our best to make the fans happy,” said Davids. Davids also spoke about the excitement of the league’s return and the upcoming challenges. “The league is back and we’re excited.

We’ve already analysed our next seven to eight matches before the FIFA break. It’s a match every three days and it’s an exciting time for the league. “Our focus remains on discipline, intensity and execution.

Every game is a new challenge and we must approach it with the right mindset. We respect our opponents, but our goal is to dominate, play smart and deliver results. The fans deserve our best and that’s what we intend to give them,” he added.

Currently, Simba is sitting at the top of the league standings and their eyes are firmly set on extending their lead. On the other hand, Tabora United’s coach, Ally Salim, has a tough task ahead.

After a strong finish to the first half of the season, where they moved up from the bottom to mid-table.Tabora United will be hoping to continue their impressive run.

Having already defeated top league teams like Young Africans and Azam earlier in the season, Salim’s side will be determined to add Simba to their list of big scalps.

In the press conference, Salim acknowledged the challenge, but expressed confidence in his team’s preparation.

“We know it will be a tough match, but we are well-prepared and fully focused. We will play with intensity, stay disciplined and aim to secure all three points. Our team is motivated and ready to give our best performance for our fans,” he said.

Simba’s most recent match was a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Singida Black Stars. Historically, Simba have faced Tabora United three times, emerging victorious on each occasion.

After today’s match, Simba SC will return to action on February 6 against Fountain Gate FC, while Tabora United will take on Namungo FC on February 5.

Other Premier League fixtures on February 5 include Young Africans against Kengold FC and Dodoma Jiji facing Pamba Jiji.
