Simba sign 4bn/- kit contract

SIMBA kit won’t be the same in the 2023/24 season after signing a 4bn/- contract with a new kit supplier, Sandaland in Dar es Salaam on Friday.

The Club’s Chief executive Officer, Imani Kajula said the deal with the new kit supplier is the first towards creating superior Simba whose major aim in the 2023/24 season is to reclaim three major tittles the club lost in two past seasons. Kajula said 2bn/- will be paid annually in the two-year contract.

Kajula assured Simba fans that the new kit to be supplied by Sandaland are of a high quality and will be readily available to all supporters of Simba.

“With the new kit, we hope to see superior Simba in the coming season,” said Kajula.

Meanwhile, KMC have confirmed their stay in the Premier League following their 3-2 aggregate victory over Mbeya City at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

KMC came from 2-1 loss in Mbeya to claim an emphatic 2-0 in the return leg match in Dar es Salaam.

The loss has condemned Mbeya City to face Mashujaa in the two-legged fixture. The Championship side, Mashujaa eliminated Pamba of Mwanza on 5-4 aggregate win on their way to meet the loser of a match between KMC and Mbeya City. KMC looked determined to win right after a kick off making series of raids at Mbeya City in the early minutes of a kick off.

Their efforts paid off in the 3rd minute when Daruwesh Saliboko scored KMC’s opener after a good combination. Mbeya City tried to level the score but none of their efforts as KMC defence stood firm in all 45 minutes of the first.

A few minutes to the end of the first half, KMC consolidated their win by adding the second goal in the 37th minute. It was Awesu Awesu who silenced Mbeya City with spectacular finish a few minutes to the first half. KMC Coach Jamhuri Kihwelo was delighted to see his team win the Premier League ticket.

“Let me congratulate my players for the fighting spirit that enable them to win by a bigger margin after 2-1 loss in Mbeya,” he said during a post-match briefing.

Kihwelo said he was glad to score two goals as just needed one goal to gain a ticket to the Premier League. After the two-legged fixtures, KMC the aggregate have automatically remained in the top-flight league for the 2023/24 league campaign.

On the other hand, Mbeya City will have another two-legged play-off match against the Championship league side Mashujaa.
