DAR ES SALAAM: Salim Abdallah, alias ‘Try Again,’ has stepped down as the chairman of the Board of Directors of Simba SC and called on the club’s fraternity to give full support to his successor to bring back the good old days.

He made the remarks yesterday in Dar es Salaam when he officially announced his resignation from the post he served for the past seven years.

“I have personally requested our investor Mohamed Dewji to take charge as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and I will continue to serve as a loyal member.

“I therefore urge Simba members and fans to give him full support because his success will be the success of the entire club and this is what we all want to see. “I thank our fans, Tanzanians, and the government through the Ministry for Culture, Arts and Sports for their cooperation rendered to me throughout my tenure.

“Special thanks to our fans, they were with us everywhere we went and this cooperation should continue so that together, we can enjoy the fruits of success,” Abdallah said.

“Leadership is all about giving each other a space… you never know, perhaps tomorrow I will come back again as such, I thank Tanzanians and our fans not forgetting the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) for working closely together.

“I resign with pleasure knowing that I have helped the team achieve a lot and I believe that those who will come will also do a commendable job to steer the club further.

“Especially, I thank Mohammed Dewji for his trust on me, and truly, he deserves to be commended, he is not just an investor but a passionate Simba member.”
