Simba rue missing trio vs Dodoma

SIMBA have ruled out Shomari Kapombe, Peter Banda and Pape Sakho as they face Dodoma Jiji at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.

A win will earn Simba 13 points on the log and place them at the helm while also maintaining the team’s unbeaten status.

Speaking at a pre-match briefing yesterday, Assistant Coach Selemani Matola sidelined the trio saying they are not hundred per cent fit to engage into the match due to different reasons.

“Kapombe and Banda are nursing injuries while Sakho has got family issues he is taking care of but the rest of players are in good health waiting to fight for maximum three points,” he said.

Again, Matola pointed out that he is aware that whenever they play against Dodoma Jiji, the game is always tough as such; all precautions will be taken into consideration.

“We watched their previous match against Geita Gold of which they played well that is why I have already insisted that we will approach the game with full caution,” he said.

On his part, the Vice Captain Mohamed Hussein also reiterated that they have had thorough preparations and are looking forward to the encounter in order to generate positive results.

He added that despite the premier league pause to pave way for the FIFA International break, they were not just relaxing but rather had a fruitful trip to Zanzibar where they played two friendly matches.

On his part, Dodoma Jiji Assistant Coach Renatus Shija reiterated that his side is ready for the showdown and that are curious to grab maximum points.

“To our side, we have done our homework well, we are aware that Simba has got competitive players with some of them from outside the country but that does not prevent us to stage our match,” he said.

He also seized the platform to applaud all sponsors of the league saying nowadays, teams are surviving and are able to move from one place to another easily unlike in the past.
