Simba roar with 4-0 rout over Fountain Gate

DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA have reinforced their top position in the league with a resounding 4-0 victory over Fountain Gate at KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam today (Sunday, August 25, 2024).

The result not only highlights Simba’s dominant form this season, following a strong 3-0 win against Tabora United in their opening fixture, but also cements their top position on the league ladder. They share six points with Singida Black Stars but lead on goal difference.

Edwin Balua set the tone with a clinical header in the 13th minute, courtesy of a pinpoint assist from Jean Ahoua.

Fountain Gate’s defenders, caught napping, left Balua with far too much room, and he made them pay with a bullet header that flew past a helpless goalkeeper.

Simba’s relentless pressure continued unabated, and just before the halftime whistle, Steven Mukwala doubled the lead.

The goal was a testament to teamwork, with fullback Shomari Kapombe threading a perfectly weighted pass that Mukwala dispatched with ease.

The first half ended with Simba firmly in control, leading 2-0.

The second half saw Simba ratchet up the intensity even further. Ahoua, who has been a revelation this season, delivered a spectacular long-range strike in the 55th minute.

Receiving a deft pass from Mohamed Hussein, Ahoua cut inside and unleashed a curveball that left the Fountain Gate goalkeeper stranded and helpless.

The onslaught continued as Valentino Mashaka added the fourth with a masterful display of individual skill.

After receiving a pass from Ahoua, Mashaka navigated through a sea of defenders before unleashing a thunderous strike that completed the rout.

Simba’s performance was more than just a display of scoring prowess; it highlighted their seamless integration across the pitch.

From the defensive line to the midfield and attacking front, every player demonstrated an uncanny ability to synchronize and exploit their opponents’ weaknesses.

The team’s pressing game was relentless, and their movement off the ball was orchestrated to perfection, creating spaces and opportunities with ease.

Ahoua’s contribution has been particularly noteworthy. With three assists and a goal in just two games, he’s become a central figure in Coach Fadhli Davids’ tactical setup.

Mashaka’s consistent scoring is another plus, with two goals in as many matches, while Mohamed Hussein has also been influential, contributing two assists.

As Simba SC stands atop the league table with six points and a superior goal difference, their performance sends a clear message to their rivals.

The team’s balance, energy, and execution are shaping up to make them a formidable force this season, and they appear poised to extend their dominance in the league.
