Simba, JKT in tough league test

DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA SC will face JKT Tanzania today in an exciting Mainland Premier League encounter at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, with both coaches underscoring that it will be a tough clash.
During a pre-match press conference held yesterday in Dar es Salaam, both coaches acknowledged the strengths of their opponents and expressed confidence in their teams, highlighting that the contest will require tactical skill and resilience on the pitch.
Simba SC Assistant Coach Selemani Matola said his squad is ready despite missing two players.
He said goalkeeper Moussa Camara and centre-back Abdulrazack Hamza are still recovering from injuries.
Matola continued noting: “We are going into the match to meet a strong side with experienced players who know how to make an impact. Despite knowing how strong our opponent is, but we are prepared to beat them.
“We know it will not be an easy task, especially playing away,” Matola said, highlighting the team’s focus on preparation and responsibility to supporters.
He also not that the team has been working on improving attacking transitions and converting chances, an area that cost them points in recent matches.
JKT Tanzania Had Coach Ahmad Ally acknowledged Simba’s consistency in recent seasons and the possibility of new tactics under a new coach, Dimitar Pantev. Ally said his team will focus on defence and pressing to disrupt Simba’s rhythm.
“We know that Simba is a strong side with the best season in nearly seven consecutive seasons. With a new coach on board, they may bring new strategies and game plans. We need to focus on organized defense, both individually and as a team, because Simba has players who can easily capitalize on any defensive mistakes,” Ally explained.
Since JKT Tanzania returned to the top flight, the two sides have met four times, with Simba winning all four. Three victories were by 1-0, while the only 2-0 win came last year.
