DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA’s newly appointed head coach, Fadlu Davids, has expressed strong confidence in his revamped squad, praising the influx of young, talented players as a major asset for the upcoming season.

“They fit perfectly with the style we plan to adopt. Each player will be given the opportunity to prove themselves on the pitch.”

As Simba gears up for the 2024/25 season, Davids outlined his ambitions: “Our goal is clear: we aim to excel in every competition. Every match is an opportunity to secure victory and restore Simba to the top.”

Reflecting on the team’s preparation, Davids noted the swift adaptation of players to his tactics.

“In just three weeks, the team has shown strong individual and collective tactical cohesion. I am confident that as we continue to work together, our effectiveness will only improve,” he added.

Looking ahead to the match against APR, Davids expects a challenging game but feels prepared. “We’ve thoroughly analysed our opponents and are ready for a competitive encounter. I anticipate a fantastic match,” he said. Davids also emphasised his commitment to giving every player a chance to showcase their abilities. “Our aim is to ensure that every player gets the opportunity to contribute to the team’s success,” he confirmed.

APR’s Assistant Coach, Thierry Hitimana, acknowledged the challenge Simba poses and highlighted the match as key preparation for their Champions League fixtures.

“This will be a rigorous match and both teams are eager to see the results of their preparations,” Hitimana noted.

Simba SC captain, Mohamed Hussein, called on fans to attend the match in large numbers. “We are well-prepared and committed to delivering an outstanding performance. We urge our supporters to come out and cheer us on,” Hussein said.

In other news, Kibu Denis has joined Simba’s training sessions following a delay caused by trials in Norway.

His integration is expected to boost the squad further. Additionally, newly signed goalkeeper Camara Moussa, formerly with Horoya, was also present at the stadium, enhancing Simba’s roster. Simba SC has shown strong form in pre-season, with victories over Saudi Arabia’s Al-Adalah and Egyptian teams Telecom and Canal SC, setting a positive tone for the season ahead.
