Simba, Azam FC game rescheduled to Mkapa

DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA and Azam FCs much-anticipated match tomorrow has been shifted to Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, with the new kick-off time set for 7:00 PM.
Originally scheduled for 4:00 PM at KMC Complex, the venue and time changes were announced yesterday through official press statements released on the clubs’ social media platforms and the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF)’s official accounts.
Tanzania Premier League Board’s statement cited the capacity difference between the two venues as the key reason for the venue change.
While KMC Complex has a modest capacity of less than 10,000, Benjamin Mkap a Stadium can hold up to 60,000 spectators, making it a more suitable option for what is expected to be a high-stakes match with a large audience.
“The reason for the venue adjustments is to guarantee that many fans have the opportunity to attend the match, which is one of the biggest in the Mainland Premier League. Moving the game to Benjamin Mkapa Stadium will provide the audience more room and improve the mood for both teams,” the statement read, Leaving aside the venue changes since last year, the two have met three times in the league, with Simba winning two and drawing one.
Last September, Simba won 2-0, last May, 3-0 and last February, the two drew 1-1.
Azam have had a difficult time earning a league win against Simba, having won 1-0 in October 2022 and 2-1 in July 2018.
