SanlamAllianz to broaden insurance coverage

DAR ES SALAAM: SanlamAllianz has launched an initiative to broaden insurance coverage in the country by offering innovative and diversified products, following the official introduction of general and life insurance in the country.
The initiative represents a key milestone in the group’s ongoing rollout of its new brand identity across Africa, reflecting its commitment to providing individuals and businesses with accessible, comprehensive and worldclass insurance solutions.
In September 2023, Sanlam and Allianz, the insurers and asset managers, formed a joint venture to create the continent’s largest pan-African non-banking financial services group.
SanlamAllianz Life Insurance’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr Robert Dommisse said the initiative marks an important milestone for financial services industry delivering.

“The joint venture allows us to combine the scale, strength and global capabilities of Sanlam and Allianz,” Mr Dommisse said through a presser. SanlamAllianz currently covers 26 countries in the Africa across various lines of business, with positions strengthened in 12 overlapping countries.
“We will continue to champion financial inclusion across African markets, adapting to changing societal needs and contributing to the economic empowerment and well-being of the communities,” he said.
SanlamAllianz General Insurance Tanzania’s CEO, Jaideep Goel said the initiative seeks to deliver general insurance solutions that meet customer satisfactions.
“This launch is not just about rebranding but reinforcing our promise to stand with customers through every stage of life and every challenge they face,” he said.
In addition, SanlamAllianz Life Tanzania and Regional Executive Mr Julius Magabe said the launching focuses on bringing innovative life insurance products that drive long-term financial security and inclusion.
