Samia marks New Year with charity

KILIMANJARO: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has donated various items to needy children in the Kilimanjaro Region as part of the New Year 2026 celebrations.

The items, including foodstuffs, were handed over on Wednesday by the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities, Ms Ummy Nderiananga, on behalf of the President.

Speaking during the event, Ms Nderiananga called on the community to love, care for and serve people with special needs as a way of promoting unity and solidarity in the country. She said the gifts were presented to 190 children being raised at The Creator Share Foundation Centre, located in Kirua Ward, Moshi Rural District, Kilimanjaro Region.

“These gifts are part of President Samia’s routine of providing holiday gifts every year, and today I am here to implement that routine on her behalf as we celebrate the New Year 2026,” she said.

Ms Nderiananga further noted that within 100 days of beginning her second term, the Sixth Phase President, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, has continued to bring comfort, love, hope and unity to Tanzanians, describing the gesture as a clear indication of the President’s love for her people regardless of their living conditions.
