Samia launches 3bn/- Mbinga District offices
RUVUMA: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has officially inaugurated the 3bn/- Mbinga District Council headquarters urging district officials to use the facility to effectively address challenges facing the public.
During the event, held on Wednesday as part of her seven-day tour in the Ruvuma, President Samia emphasized the importance of government officers in the district to ensure development projects are well-managed and benefit the majority of citizens.
She also urged the District Director to prioritize the maintenance of the building, as the government continues to allocate funds for various projects.
Minister of State President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Government), Mohamed Mchengerwa, detailed that the government has allocated 206.7bn/- for the construction of 127 administrative buildings and residences for district directors and heads of departments across the country.
He noted that 67 buildings have been completed so far, with another 60 being under construction.

The Director of Mbinga District Council Mr Joseph Rwiza reported that the new building, which took three years to complete, has centralized service delivery by housing all key offices in one location, replacing the previous arrangement where offices were spread across three separate sites.
He added that the modern facility is also attracting investment to the area.
Mbinga is one of the eight districts in the Ruvuma region.
Following the inauguration, President Samia is scheduled to visit the Bamba Bay Port, where she will launch several strategic development projects.
