Samia graces GBP’s 50m gas plant

TANGA: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has laid the foundation stone for the construction of the GBP gas plant worth 50 million US dollars in Tanga region.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Samia emphasized the importance of the project for the development of Tanga and the nation as a whole, as it supports the clean cooking energy agenda and stimulates industrial growth in the region.
“This investment in the construction of the GBP gas plant here is significant. It will promote the use of clean cooking energy and also boost the industrial sector, which we are committed to expanding in this region,” said President Samia.

The President also expressed satisfaction with GBP’s role in fuel distribution in the Northern Zone and urged the government, through the Ministry of Energy, to implement policies that will enable Tanga to become a key fuel distribution hub for the region.
Additionally, President Samia stated that GBP has plans to invest in various sectors, including building an oil storage facility, a lubricant manufacturing plant, and further investments in oil wells in Unguja and Pemba.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting these major investments and ensuring that business and investment policies foster economic growth and national prosperity.
