DAR ES SALAAM: The second phase of the Samia Fashion Festival is set to dazzle Zanzibar on November 30, spotlighting creativity, culture, and the timeless beauty of clothing.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam today, the festival’s founder, Hadija Mwanamboka, revealed that former Miss Tanzania and international fashion icon, Millen Magese, will serve as the event’s chief judge.
“This festival goes beyond fashion. We aim to support children living with HIV and uplift the underprivileged through this platform,” she said.
On her part, Millen Magese expressed her vision for Samia’s iconic dress, emphasizing its potential to become a national treasure.
“Samia’s dress symbolizes the beauty, strength, and unity of Tanzanians. My dream is to see it preserved in national museums, inspiring future generations,” she said.
On his part, Big Brother Africa winner and actor Idris Sultan encouraged Tanzanians to support women in achieving their dreams.
The festival will also feature a star-studded panel of judges, including UWT Secretary General Jokate Mwegelo, costume designer Martini Kadinda, and celebrated figures like Faraja Nyarandu, Nancy Sumari, and Idris Sultan.
