Samia appoints judges, board chairs
ZANZIBAR:PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed several Court of Appeal judges, board chairpersons, including assigning an ambassador a work station.
According to the statement availed to press yesterday by the Director of Presidential Communications, Ms Sharifa Nyanga, President Samia has appointed Judge Latifa Alhinai Mansoor to become Court of Appeal judge.
Prior to the appointment, Judge Mansoor was serving as Judge in Charge of Morogoro Integrated Justice Centre.
The new appointments made, Judge George Mcheche Masaju also becomes Court of Appeal judge. Before this new appointment Judge Masaju was serving as High Court judge and Legal Advisor to the President.
Other judges who have been appointed to become Court of Appeal judges are Judge Deo John Nangla and Judge Dr Ubena John Agatho.
Prior to the appointments, Judge Nangela was serving as Judge inCharge of High Court(Sumbawanga Zone) while Judge Agatho was serving as High Court judge (Commercial Division- Dar esSalaam).
According to the statement, President Samia has assigned Dr Stephen John Simbachawene to serve as Tanzania ambassador to Brazil, replacing Prof Adelardus Kilangi who has been assigned other duties.
Mr Uledi Abbas Mussahas been appointed as Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) board chair for the second term while Prof Zacharia Mabubu Mganilwa has been appointed as board chair of College of Business Education ( CBE), replacing Prof Wineaster Anderson whose tenure has expired,the statement read in part.The swearing in of the appointed judge will be carried out on a date to be announced later
