Rotary Club’s of Dar es Salaam desk donation continues to transform schools in Dar
DAR ES SALAAM: In a significant boost to local education inflastructure, the Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Vancouver under the Rotary Global Grants program, has donated 138 desks to Kunduchi Primary School in Kinondoni District.
The contribution brings the total number of 3,708 desks donated valued more than 470 Mil/-, benefiting ove 10,000 students helping create a conducive learning environmnet for children across the region.
The donation underscores Rotary’s ongoing commitment to address the shortage of desks in Dar es Salaam’s primary schools.
Speaking during the handover ceremony on Tuesday, Head Teacher at Kunduchi Primary School Mr Emmanuel Munisi, expressed gratitude for the support, noting that it addresses one of the school’s major challenges.

He assured that the school is committed to ensuring the maintenance of the desks for future generations.
On the part of President of the Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Munisha Tanna highlighted the club’s broad approach to educational support.
In addition the Rotary also planted 7,140 trees and trained 80 primary school teachers in ICT skills at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology.
Tanna also said that the Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam continues to advance its mission of fostering educational growth and improving community resources reaffirming its dedication to creating opportunities for every child’s success.
The newly donated desks are constructed with steel frames and treated hardwood, ensuring both durability, quality and support a conducive learning environment.
